Why Monsteo

Made for ornamental plants

Houseplants and garden plants, not every plant on Earth.

Confirmed by two independent sources

Every plant record is backed by at least two sources before it goes in.

Understands shop product titles

Pot sizes, typos and old names are stripped or resolved to the current botanical name.

Cats and dogs, separately

Toxicity is stored per animal. Missing data comes back as unknown, never as safe.

Fixed values, ready for filters and AI

Light, water and habit use fixed codes, so filters and AI models read them the same way.

MCP built in

Connect an AI assistant to the same data through the Model Context Protocol.

Frequently asked questions

Is the API live?

Not yet. Monsteo is coming soon.

What does it cost?

Pricing comes with the launch.

Which plants are covered?

Ornamental plants: houseplants and garden plants.

Where does the data come from?

Every plant is confirmed by at least two independent sources. We don't list our sources.

Which languages?

Field values are fixed codes, so your app or AI model can show them in any language. Plant names follow botanical naming.

Does the MCP server work with my assistant?

It uses the Model Context Protocol, the standard most AI assistants use to connect to tools.

What if a plant isn't found?

The match comes back as not found or low confidence. We never fill in a guess.
